Marcus Neuroscience Institute
The Marcus Neuroscience Institute at Boca Raton Regional Hospital is an
innovative nexus for neurologic and neurosurgical care. The $52 million,
57,000 square-foot facility houses a 20-bed Neuro Intensive Care and Stepdown
Unit. The rooms, all of which are private, are equipped with special monitoring
capabilities that provide vital information on both the patient’s
neurological and cardiovascular functions. Each room features an abundance
of natural lighting and an antechamber where family members can stay during
the patient’s hospitalization, as both of these factors have been
shown to positively influence recovery in neurological conditions.
Within the Schmidt Family Pavilion and the Marcus Neuroscience Institute
are a number of Centers of Excellence and programs designed to treat a
spectrum of conditions.
Marilyn & Stanley Barry Center for Cerebrovascular Disease & Stroke
The Center ensures all stroke patients are met at the door with experienced stroke nurses and physicians that guide the patient through the entire process assuring rapid care is provided 24 hours a day and seven days a week. It offers a continuum of care from an interdisciplinary team of emergency physicians, neurologists , neurosurgeons, interventional radiologists, registered nurses, stroke clinicians, stroke coordinators, therapists, technicians and case managers.
Phillip & Peggy DeZwirek Center for Spinal Disorders & Back Pain
The Center consists of an experienced team of spine-care specialists to provide patients with the most sophisticated treatment options available. Its physicians perform more than 1,500 procedures annually, utilizing the latest in surgical techniques, to achieve the best possible outcomes. The Center’s multidisciplinary approach includes pain management, neuro and ortho-spine surgery, and chiropractic and physical therapy.
Toby & Leon Cooperman Center for Memory Disorders & Alzheimer’s Disease

Epilepsy and Seizure Disorders
The Epilepsy Program develops expert and individually treatment plans for all patients suffering from epilepsy and the most difficult to control seizures.
